An unplanned visit to a local livestock market to experience the environment that animals are subjected to when being auctioned ended up with Sheep Ahoy purchasing two little lambs, one of which was Rolo. Rolo was a late entry to the sock lamb auction along with his friend Ripple who we also bought.
Jack was bought from a local farmer with his Mother Hope when he was about 7 weeks old. Jack was destined to have a short life and be slaughtered one day and as we were saving Hope we decided to take Jack as well so as he could grow up by Hope’s side.
Obi’s story began with a trip to the local livestock market to buy some sock lambs to rescue. Obi was standing very hunched up in a pen amongst other little lambs but something about his demeanor told us that he was not a well boy which meant we had to have him.
Samuel was only 24hrs old when we first saw him at a local farm and was a tiny boy under a heat lamp. We took him back to Sheep Ahoy where we found him to be very ill.
Belle is a beautiful girl born in March 2017 and bought by Sheep Ahoy Animal Rescue from market when she was only a few days old because she was seen to be ill whilst standing in the pen with the other sock lambs.
Elvis was born in March 2017 and bought by Sheep Ahoy Animal Rescue as a lamb from market when he was only a few days old because he was seen to be ill whilst standing in the pen with the other sock lambs.
Nemo is around four years old and came to Sheep Ahoy Animal Rescue in January 2017 with his friends Pom Pom & Kaspar. The ‘Charing 3’, as they are now called, were brought to the attention of Sheep Ahoy by Kent Animal Save who had noticed the sheep in a field with nothing to eat and the only water being from a trickle of a stream running through the paddock.
Maa is an ex breeding ewe of around 12 years old who came to Sheep Ahoy during October 2016 with her friend May. Maa was in a terrible condition being not only emaciated but severely anaemic with a respiratory infection as well.

Sheep
Sheep will always be the main focus of the rescue and we seem to be continually adding to the Gang.

Oli is very much the father figure of the Gang hence we call it Oli’s Gang.

Lola was the weakest of triplets and unfortunately her mother did not bother with her so Lola had to be hand raised.

Molly is a five year old Southdown cross who came to Sheep Ahoy Animal Rescue at the same time as Lola and they remain best friends to this day.
